@ Fred - I'm sorry, but you're gonna have to review and rewrite your comments before I give it serious attention. You seem to be making incomplete arguments based on premises that are vague and inexplicably assumed (eg. whatever the "Muslim mafia" is) and leaping to conclusions without fully explaining what you think. Explain it as if you're explaining it to a kid.

The one thing that I'd like to discount is your "I've known some Muslims" argument. Don't use that again - you expose yourself too much. It's the classic, "I've got [insert ethnicity here] friends, therefore I am an authority on them, so my opinion is persuasive" argument. Just because you've had some limited experience with Muslims doesn't give you expert status to say that they have a "psychotic religion/culture/political theocracy [which] is a cancer on the face of this earth."

Wow - I think this author's picture is in the dictionary right next to the phrase 'holier than thou'.

Hey noogie - or whatever ...

You seem to completely miss her point. Sure it's a rant, but it's not ignorant and it's not bigoted. Haven't you noticed it's pretty much 'Muslims against the world' lately? It's not even close, in terms of culture or religion - they're winning the race back down to the savage darkness, leading by a country mile and gaining on the field. (Sub-Saharan Africa of course being a completely special case of tragedy). Even the Russian and the Chinese commies seem to be trying to put their twentieth century killing spree behind them. But seriously - she's right - The Muslim mafia is in charge big-time and they are causing big trouble everywhere they can. And that's pretty much everywhere there is. They are perverting the whole damn --- Oh balls, I'm not going to rehash this here.

Just read your own last 2 paragraphs and tell me why your so-called 'moderate muslim' shouldn't be held to the same standard. Or are you some kind of ... *bigot* ?!? And P.S - the U.S. does take responsibility - every time somebody like you brings it up - after all who is "they" if it's not you and me.

And speaking of ignorance - Maybe somebody should quote a little Winston Churchill to you; or maybe you think he was 'ignorant' about the Arabs and Muslims too.

I've known a few Muslims, mostly Arabs, some Asians, and yeah, some of them are righteous good people, sure. But they're mostly weirdos, and their psychotic religion/culture/political theocracy is a cancer on the face of this earth. They will either reform it soon (I'd prefer that, but I don't think they will) or we will *shatter* them and scatter the scarce remains of their fucked-up Ummah to the four winds. And you can bank on that, my friend. Remember - we haven't even begun to play Cowboys and Muslims yet. But when we do, we will do so decisively.

Personally - I liked what the lady had to say.

@ Billy Glad

Yea, you're pretty much on the mark. Although others feel differently. Just felt like I should speak on the subject.

@ beb...

Naw, I used ignorant correctly. What she posted up was ignorant and I spelled out why. Since when are these things that she spoke against peculiar to Muslims? Anyways, in my newfound neverending quest against ignorant statements made on the internet, I'll address the points you made.

Simply because a majority of people feel a certain way doesn't necessarily mean anything. A lot of people think a log of dumb stuff. A lot of people can think it's better to be up on Britney Spears' latest fiascos than on tax rates in their local communities. That only tells me that a lot of people prioritize poorly. I'm sure this makes me sound elite, but like I pointed out earlier, people don't like to think critically. We've become consumers in every sense of the word.

"Conflict around the world? Chances are that Muslims are involved." Considering the fact that Christianity is the most popular religion in the world, chances are that Christians are involved too! Name a conflict that doesn't have Christians involved.

And you're talking about responsibility that moderate Muslims have to constrain Islamic radicals? First, you totally disregarded any notions of freedom of conscience that are fundamental to Western standards of democracy. But let's disregard your disregard. Am I the only person who notices when a head of an Islamic state comes out and denounces acts of terrorism? Why do you think Bin Laden is hiding in the damn cave in Pakistan & Afghanistan? He's not strolling in Tehran, or Damascus, or Baghdad. They'll kill him. Did you not notice how Al-Qaeda has fallen out of favor in Iraq? The Iraqis have been killing them off.

And Christianity based on notions of white supremacy was in fashion in the 1950s. You're acting like America is just the shining emblem of righteousness. But let's say it is - I don't know what anyone has done other than ignore white supremacists. They've simply fallen out of favor. Well, I'll give you that federal agencies have done a good job of arresting them for their recklessness. But that's the thing, no one is saying what they should do "constrain the radicals of their religion" other than prosecute them for criminal behavior.

Finally, to your address what you perceive to be responsibility. I sure wish the US would take responsibility for being the number one arms seller in the world. I wish they would take responsibility for Manifest Destiny. Damn, I wish they would really take responsibility for 1) supporting Saddam back in the 1980s and 2) unilaterally invading Iraq on weak evidence.

Look I'm proud to be American. I'm proud to be Christian. But when you see ignorant statements made - even by the masses - you've got to call it out. When your country has done something wrong, you've got to look at it and say, "Hey, we messed up." When Evangelicals rage against abortion and gay rights but can't say the last time they read about the fruits of the Spirit, I say, "That's wrong." That's what a responsible country and a responsible citizenry does.

Anyways, it's been fun, but I've got work to do. The lesson for today is to try to not be so close-minded and think critically, kay?

Concerning your repeated use of the word "ignorant". To quote from The Princess Bride, I don't think that word means what you think it means. You used a lot of words to say a whole lot of nothing. The writer of the piece you are attacking is expressing an understandable anger at the constant number of bodies that are piling up at the door of Islam around the world. Conflict around the world? Chances are that Muslims are involved.

The so called moderates of Islam have abdicated any responsibility they have have as moral people to constrain the radicals of their religion. Moderates of other religions have taken such steps and ostracized the radicals of their sects. That's why you don't see white christians embracing the nutcases that promote a christianity based white supremacy.

Responsible people take responsibility. Islam will continue to be the pariah of the world until it finds moderates that are willing to take responsibility.

It's probably not about religion. Maybe it's more about culture. Culture is the thorniest part of racism and racialism. I doubt we're going to kill a billion people in the name of religion these days.
